I love my friends here at school. They are awesome and I couldn't ask for better! We had lots of fun this weekend (in between the boring-as-all-get-out times- there are definitely pros and cons to 3-day weekends...). On Friday night 6 of us went to Starbucks and played Phase 10 for a few hours, then headed off to the Sundial Bridge. If you lay underneath the bridge, it looks like a toilet bowl and the sundial looks like 3D toilet paper about to fall gracefully into the bowl, in which you are lying. Pretty awesome. Some guy (we think he's from Bethel) leaned over the "rim" of the bowl and asked if any of us could play the guitar; we told him no. We decided later that we should have said yes and that our dads were famous guitarists and we had just cut a record label. And then sung and played horribly. It would have been entertaining. As we were leaving, we politely nodded to the security guard who whispered creepily, "Eeeexcellent." Sick old man.
I did homework all day Saturday until the guy's basketball game, which was crazy intense. We beat our rivals, William Jessup (I'm discouraging Abby from going there). The refs were horrible; I don't think that they gave one team a preference over another, but were just terrible all the way around.
It's always lame to go back to the dorms after a game on the weekend, so we went to In-n-Out which is one of the only places open after 10:00 pm. Half of my school was there, so it was crowded and loud. We did, however, see one of our psych profs and she sat with us; it was really cool to get to know her outside of the classroom.
Sunday was boring too until late in the afternoon when Lindsey and I went to Starbucks and the mall, but we soon got kicked out of the mall. Really, what mall closes at 6:00 on a Sunday night before a holiday?? Geez. So we came back and... uh... what did we do? Oh yeah. Nothing. Just hung out in Lindsey's room with Kourtney. It was fun though, we had a nice discussion.
Today, we went to see Music and Lyrics. Let me just say that I am glad I did not grow up in the '80's. Praise Jesus! Again, we were bored, so we went to Enterprise Park where Kid's Kingdom is. That is the coolest playground I have ever seen! Too bad there were so many kids there, but we want to go back during school hours sometime when we can have it to ourselves. =) The swings were fabulous, though; they were tall enough that I didn't hit the ground with my feet, which (believe it or not) can be a problem for me (because I am taller than little kids, really I am!). I have hence-forth decided that when I have my own house, I will have a swing set in my backyard because I love love love swinging. Definitely one of my favorite pasttimes. I have also decided that I want to get to know Redding better. I want to walk the river trail and explore Caldwell Park and bike around town and hike all the falls (especially Burney) and go night skiing. There's so much to do around here, but we really don't take advantage of it. Instead, we sit around watching movies or drinking coffee. How healthy. But we plan to do a lot more of that kind of fun stuff the rest of this school year as well as next fall (like swimming in lakes before it gets too cold).
Anyway, here I am, back in my room. I need to finish up a little bit more homework, and then I'll probably either read a book for awhile or just go to bed.
I just realized though that my friends are awesome. I just love them and am so glad that they are my friends. We have such fun together and can also have serious discussions. We are there to encourage and comfort one another. Friends are the best. =)

I'm definitely a big fan of getting out there and doing stuff.
