I just increased my risk of skin cancer by 1000%

The weekend before last was Columbus Day weekend, which for some reason we get a 4-day weekend. (Please note: I am not complaining. I just think it's weird that we get a long weekend for a holiday that is barely recognized.) Anyway, I drove down to southern California with my friends Kellie, Lindsey, Jenna, and Alison. We stayed at my house. On Saturday, they went to Disneyland on gay pride day (how exciting!) while I went to the USC-UW football game with Dad (speaking of which... Abby, will you send me the pics and videos that I took? Thank you). For whatever reason, I neglected to lather sunscreen on for the 12:30 game; I sat directly in the sun for at least 3 hours. My forehead was burnt to a crisp. Literally. It was leathery and quite hard the next day. And it hurt like crazy. You know that joke "Hey, does your face hurt? [no] Well, it's sure hurting me!"? I would have answered "Yes! It does, in fact!" Though my arm didn't burn as badly, I could feel it burning while I was sitting there (though I didn't realize my face was getting cooked... weird). It's a terrible feeling to know that you're burning and can do absolutely nothing about it. Very sad.
But other than the terrible sunburn and the almost-lost USC game (thank goodness the UW QB messed up...), it was a good weekend. We went shopping the next day after church, where I successfully spent no money (a miracle, I know). I should have bought those earrings, I should have bought those earrings...
I feel as though I should mention my no-dessert policy. I have no self-control. Actually, I went on a sugar fast with the Therapeutic Psych class (even though I'm not in it- solidarity, you know) starting October 1; sugar cannot be in the first 3 ingredients of anything you eat. That means no ketchup, no bagels, no peanut butter (GASP), no dessert (duh), no coffee with good flavoring... it was rough. But... I went home. And forgot that sugar fast was spelled with an "a." I thought it was sugar fest. My bad. So anyway, I got back to school and decided that I really didn't want to do it anymore because I was stressed out and busy enough as it is that I don't really want to monitor what I'm eating all the time. Too much work. So I'm back to just making sure I eat semi-healthy. Ha. I have no self-control.
Ok, anything else... hm hm hmmm. Well, not much else going on. School is keeping me busy as well as being in charge of the Social Action Committee and doing various things with my friends such as watching movies, going to the mall, attending soccer games, etc. Oh, and sleeping here and there.

I used a lot of parenthesis in this blog.

Yeah, that was a scare for SC. You'll hate to hear this, but I think they are seriously over-ranked this year. My prediction is that CAL will win the pac-10. =)
