So my goal this semester: no desserts! Or at least very few. So I am going to make a commitment. Every time I have dessert, I will post about it on my blog. That way, I will not eat as much because I know have "accoutability" or something. Here are the exceptions:
1) Starbucks: though health-wise it might count as a dessert, I am not. Don't lecture me about it; my commitment, my rules. =)
2) Jamba: I will only get fruit-only (no yogurt) smoothies.
3) The chocolate-covered gummi bears my parents bought me from Harry and David's: It was a special gift and I feel entitled to eat them.
4) Other disclaimers: I will not be totally strict about this. I realize that there are times to go out and eat some ice cream, but my goal is to not eat cookies and other desserts on a regular basis here at school. However, I will report on my occasional Winchell's/Coldstone/Whatever indulgence. Hopefully, I will appreciate dessert more after all this. And be more healthy.
Oh, and trail mix doesn't count either. The nuts and raisins make up for the chocolate chips.

The two top orthopedic surgeons at our local hospital follow a 'No C' diet. They don't have:
Chips
Cookies
Candies
Crackers
Cake
Thankfully, they've overlooked ice Cream...
