As was mentioned before, I took two exams this week. I felt that I did pretty well in Biblical Backgrounds, and ok in psych. Why is it that when you feel one way, it ends up another?? I am extremely happy with my psych grade, but kinda disappointed with my Biblical Backgrounds grade. I thought I did so much better!! Maybe my expectations were too high.
And going to Oral Communications today did absolutely nothing to improve my confidence. I am totally going to flunk the midterm. The prof gave us a sample test to show us how he tests. Yup. Going to die. A lot of them are true/false type questions. Not bad, right? Wrong. Our options for each question are: true; false; both true and false; and, neither true nor false. I will be studying like mad before that exam! Oh yeah, this professor makes up words (and they make sense). Some of them are used in communication circles. Yeah, this guy is way smart. I think he needs to be reminded that he's teaching freshman. But it's just so annoying! He nevers gives anyone a straight answer. I could just throw him out the window!! *arg*
Speaking of exams and such, I have a World Civ exam on Tuesday. If I study the terms the professor gave us, and memorize the maps, I should be fine. Oh wait, that's what I said about Biblical Backgrounds. But seriously, it shouldn't be too bad.
Well, enough depressing talk about school. Well, what I was going to say was about homework. But it's cheerful!! For writing, we have to watch the Presidential debate tonight. =) I'm glad I am forced to, because I wanted to watch it and probably wouldn't otherwise.
And tonight is more volleyball!! I am excited! I just love volleyball.
Well, I am just rambling now. Better stop while I'm ahead. (Or not too far behind. One of the two.)
*Question of the day* Do you what "defenestration" means- without looking in the dictionary? Mary Kate, you can't answer this one. My professor used it the other day, and I got so excited!! I'll try to remember to post the answer. ;)

I know! I know! ;)
Your Oral Communications teacher needs to spend a few years outside the classroom. I bet he'd have trouble keeping a steady job. That type of true/false test is a waste of time and innaccurate reflection of what you've learned.
Don't worry, you'll get through it quite well.

eh, don't stress your mid-terms too much. I just got my first econ one back and found out I didn't nail the test as hard as I was sure I had.

Of course I know what defenestration means. All previously homeschooled persons do. It's merely the function of projecting an individual or existing substance thru an opening within a wall that is usually encased by glass.

Oh my gosh. I almost just scrolled down to post a defenestration comment after reading the paragraph about throwing things out the window. Good thing YOUR defenestration paragraph got my attention.
Of course I know what it means. It's a great word. =)
Both true AND false? How does that work?
And yes, I was actually going to comment on defenestration because of you're "I could just throw him out the window" phrase. :) I remember posting it in my LJ when I learned it too. :)

*ahem* post please *ahem*
=)
Just need my daily dose of Stephanie.
Caitie, here is an example of an both T and F question.
Q: And "objectivist" has knowledge of truth.
A: Both true and false.
Explanation given by professor: Truth is spiritual, social and physical. People who only have an objective knowledge cannot know the fullness of truth- but they do know part of it (physical and some social).
I think your professor just likes to have weird answers tha t are unusual on his exams. Never liked oxymorons myself!
