A Glimpse into Stephanie's Life at Simpson

Well, I haven't updated in quite awhile, and my last post was quite sad, so I shall attempt to do better this time. I really have too much homework to do such things as update blogs, but I'm rather exceptional at procrastinating, so here it goes.

A story: It was early in the semester. Almost all the psych majors (at least anybody who's anybody) are in Marriage and Family. I was talking to my friend and fellow psych major and asked if she was in M&F. She stared at me and asked, totally straight-faced, "Are you dumb?" I stared at her in shock. My RA, who was standing right there, almost cried on my behalf. My friend instantly realized what she had said and gasped, offering apologies and hugs as a way of recompense- laughing in surprise at her own statement the whole time. Now, in my defense: I had not yet sat with her, she sat behind me so that I could not see her, and she had not yet spoken up in class. Granted, it was a dumb question because I knew she was in the class, but her presence had not yet been implanted in my mind. This is now a joke between us. And I still love her. Her positive qualities outweigh her Freudian slip (I think that, deep down, she thinks I'm dumb...jk).

Sports at Simpson: So. I really love USC (and no, I don't want to hear about their recent loss, thank you very much). My friend Josh knows this. Almost every time I see him, he yells, "JOHN DAVID BOOTY IS OVERRATED" or "USC IS OVERRATED." All this just to bug me. He even went so far as to buy a Notre Dame T-shirt. Too bad they lost-HA! So I debate football with Josh. With Jackson, I continually remind him that the Ducks are ahead of the Sharks. Yay! Unfortunately, my competetiveness in sports is starting to come out, which also draws out the less gracious side of me. "HA! We won and you LOOOOOOST!!" (Note to self: Work on that!)

MOST EXCITING NEWS EVER: I'm going to the Rose Bowl!!! WOOOOOO!!! I'm stoked, it's going to be great. I've never been to a bowl game, and a USC bowl game... even better!! I'll have to miss the beach party, but that's a small loss. I'll get some good Dad time (hooray!) along with GOING TO A BOWL GAME!!! YEAH! Amazing. Actually, I'm not sure if Dad's ever been to the Rose Bowl. ??

Well, that's it for now. I am in the midst of (yet another) Hell Week, so I should go write papers or something.

My hands are cold.

I think you should both duel over which one of you gets to go.

Oh, and be sure to tell me when you guys are going to do this. I've been in need of some entertainment lately...

Ooh, hope you had fun. I camped out on the street overnight in Pasadena to watch the Rose PARADE with my cousins, which was fun. Even with the seemingly dozens of blankets we had, I was still cold overnight. But we got front-row seats. :)
