At least for a week.
Lassen was exceptional this year. The teaching was great, challenging me to consistently get into the Word. I struggle with what I should read for daily devotions. I want to actually read my Bible, not the devotional book (not to disqualify devotionals). But the Bible is such a big book that I’m often overwhelmed on where to start and how to go about studying it. Linda O., in her meeting, helped me immensely in how to study. She told us basic things to look for in each passage (what is the passage about, how to apply it to life etc). It’s been fruitful so far. =)
It was also fun to see everyone again, especially since I missed out on Shallowbrook. As much as we sometimes complain about meeting’s idiosyncrasies, we have an awesome relationship with everyone. I wouldn’t trade my “meeting heritage” for anything.
Abby and I spent a couple days in Orange County after Lassen with all the out-of-state people. They all went to the beach on Saturday, which Abby and I weren’t too keen on, so we met up with them later at Karly’s house for pizza. Sunday, we went out to BP for lunch, and then back to the house to hang out/sleep. Down in Huntington Beach, there is often a group of drummers on the pier. We headed to HB for dinner and drums, to find only dinner (yum- Wahoo’s fish tacos). Only one drummer was out, and he soon let some druggie bang on it. We left. Abby and I went back out to OC Monday evening as well.
We left for houseboating bright and early Tuesday morning. Hoseboating was a blast as usual. I didn’t wakeboard as much this year, but it was fun to just relax and play poker. =) I did, however, almost jump the wake on the wakeboard. I got air, and wiped out; later, I was close to getting air and landed it. Now to only combine the two…
Thanks very much to the Beck’s family. The time was fun, the food was good and the company was great. Thanks a ton!! =)
So now I am packing for college. We leave for vacation a week from tomorrow, and I have to get everything together. Thankfully (?), I never really unpacked from last year, so it’s all still in the garage. I just need to reorganize and buy a few things I ran out of. I’m looking forward to a good, though busy, semester. Eighteen units, plus working a few hours/week… yikes. So we leave next Wednesday to go up to Idaho to visit relatives, then over to Washington to HL, another church camp. We will be visiting people along the way. It’s going to be fun, I’m really looking forward to seeing my relatives.
Summer has gone by so fast. I can’t believe it’s practically over already. Gee whiz, time flies.
My pictures are at Wal*Mart right now, so I may get some posted when I get back to school (my parent’s computer doesn’t have Hello, and I don’t feel like downloading it and making it that much slower…).

Yes, reading the Bible is good. I personally can't stand most devitionals. Also, I think there are too many people who think they need 'help' to understand the Bible (well, they do, but some book is hardly an adequate replacement for the Holy Spirit).
See you at HL. Is your whole family coming?
I more needed something to guide me through the Bible (I'm not always a very focused person). Though the more devos I read, the more it seems they're trying to replace the Bible...
Well, maybe not replace, but they sure don't go very deep.
Yes, my whole fam is going to HL. Can't wait!! =)
Hey, so I don't have a way to contact you, so email me or something soon so we can nail this down, okay?
