Dean's List

So what's the point of making the Dean's List if you don't get any money? Oh yeah. The honor. And feeling of accomplishment. Does it make it easier to get into grad school? I hope so. If I am correct in understanding a conversation last night, I have to hold a 4.0 the rest of my college career to be Summa Cum Laude (sp). Thankfully, my goal is not summa. I am setting my goals low with cum laude. If I get Magna or Summa, then lovely. But I will not get lower than cum laude.

Cate was discussing how one of her ideal jobs to be a professional traveler. I completely agree. That's my ideal job too. I have always wanted to travel. Sarah has been to a bunch of places in Europe, and Bethany has gone to Scotland, and Kelsie is going to Alaska. Illinois and Iowa is the farthest from home I have been (other than when I was a year and a half old when I went to Kentucky, but that doesn't count). Oh, and Canada, but only for 3 hours. So I don't think that really counts either. I live 2 hours from the Mexico border yet I have never been there. I have been pretty darn close, but unlike SOME people I know, we get off on the correct exit for the zoo. =D Anyway, if anyone wants to donate a bunch of money to me, you're more than welcome. I would love to travel. Even if it's just the US. Hey, it's a start.

Ok, so I have come to the conclusion that my writing is still rather pathetic. For pete's sake, I had to rip my ideas off something that came in the mail and from some one else's post!!
And there is still nothing new. So have a great weekend, all. =)

Let's save up for a couple years and then just go bum our way around the world. :) Seriously, my biggest reason for not going isn't lack of money, it's lack of traveling companion.
And I'm not sure what the dean's list is for either...but summa is cumulative 3.9 or above, so it's pretty tough--I got one B+ and several A-'s and ended with a 3.94, so it's possible! Just HARD. It helps if you aim for a certain level from the beginning and say I WILL DO IT. That's the only thing that kept me going my last semester--"I'm not giving up all the work I've done already to settle for magna, dang it!" Alright, I'll shut up now. :) Oh, and RYN, totally come visit on a long weekend--I'll most likely be here... :)

Ulg. If you're a professional traveller, then you have to fly all the time . . . :P
