Genesis, Exodus, and Dancing

As mentioned before, this weekend was Genesis, the preview weekend for prospective students. I guess it went well; I wasn't out of my room too much. Nite Life was HILARIOUS! There were classic songs about the caf food (cereal, cereal!), anti-snuggling during chapel (amen!!), and other various things that good naturedly either make fun of my school, or point out inconsistencies. The International Street Faire was also fun. Annette and Sarah made me a bracelet so I will remember to pray for their trip to Romania. Dang, I wanna go!! I'm so bummed I'm not going on a trip!! I plan on doing that next summer, though.
Beck's (Second) Favorite Person On My Campus played the bagpipes while wearing a kilt and corresponding garb (unfortunately, I didn't have my camera). I really like the bagpipes!! I always think of my grandma when I hear Caleb play, because she sometimes talks about her days back in Nova Scotia and her Scottish traditions there. If I have my facts straight, there is a famous bagpiper with the last name of Beaton to whom we are distantly related.
But enough on my family's history.
I didn't end up going to Exodus- none of my friends were going, and I didn't have a ride. So we watched a movie instead, during which Mary and Jeanette convinced me to go with them to an '80's dance party at The Refuge, a local church's youth group. It cost us a whopping dollar to get in because some guys really wanted Mary and Jeanette to go so bad that they gave them $5 with which to get in. (It costs $2 to get in; it was a fundraiser for one of the mission teams.) So we dressed up all crazy, though not necessarily exactly '80's. Some of the outfits at the party were hysterical!! I have no idea where some of those girls got such interesting looking spandex! Leg warmers are coming back into style, so they were abundant as well. I just hope and pray the '80's styles in general doesn't came back. It looks terrible!!

Now I have to get crackin' on the homework. *groan* I have 1 midterm (tomorrow), one paper, and an exam (both Friday) so I have a busy day ahead of me! On the bright side, we don't have cognitive psych tomorrow because the teacher is out of town, and no class today. =D

But what were the hairdos like? The 80's, as I remember them, were all about the 'dos.

There were some ones, let me tell you! I had the traditional side ponytail, with a sparkly scrunchy. Sadly, the 'dos weren't quite as "good" as the real thing (or at least what I've seen in pictures). I took pictures (a whole 2), so I will post them when I get them developed.

Good things about spandex:
*keep you warm when you wear them under your jeans.
*comfortable
So yes, I love spandex too. Just not exclusively spandex. Some of the girls last night could get away with it, but others of us could not.
