Reflections

Chapel was wonderful today, as all Praise and Worship chapels are. The following song hit home with me today, putting me awe of God's greatness and magnificent love.

He knows my name
And He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
And He hears me when I call

It is so incredible to think that God, the ruler and creator of the universe, would personally know my name in the midst of billions of other people. He knows me personally. He knows what I want to do with my life, what I enjoy doing, and what I hate doing. He knows the struggles that I am going through, though everyone else may not. He see each tear that I cry in loneliness, frustration, or happiness. And best of all, He hears whenever I call for help, whether I feel like He hears or not. So often I feel that my prayers are just bouncing off the ceiling, not going anywhere. I feel I am talking to myself, trying to sort things out and resolve things on my own. But He hears us. He may be waiting for me to turn my whole mind and heart to Him before He answers or allows me to feel His presence. In fact, He probably is. And it works, more often than not, though it takes awhile.
I know a few people have written on this general subject recently, but I feel that it cannot be repeated often enough. We have such an awesome God! He created us to be one-of-a-kind. He has created billions upon billions of people, yet he still knows my name, and knows each thought I think. He knows exactly why I cry each time I do. And through each trial, tribulation, and joy, He is with me; to guide me, to comfort me, and to protect me.

Psalm 8:3-4
When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars which You have set in place, what is man that You are mindful of Him, the son of man that you care for him?
Matthew 10:29, 31
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny?... You are worth more than many sparrows.

Our God is an awesome God!!
