I bet you think this song is about you.*
Guess what I've had stuck in my head the whole day??!? That and *We're Vikings! Well, whatta ya know, the terrors of the sea. We're Vikings...* Comes from too many years of babysitting.

Homework has been crazy lately. My goodness. Exams, papers, procrastination- I mean, the usual homework. I just finished a paper that should have been done long ago. I procrastinated until... oh... last night. Because I had to have a good amount of it done by this afternoon, I stayed up quite awhile working on it, only to get a whole paragraph done. And it wasn't even a good paragraph. So I ended up just researching last night, and writing today. I really shouldn't procrastinate so much.

We had a psych exam last Monday. I got a 90%- not bad, but wish I had done better. One more point, and I can get an A in the class. So close... But I still have quizzes, extra credit, and two more exams. So hopefully I can pull it up to at least a low A. Mid-high A would be preferrable. But anyway, enough about grades. We'll see what my Biblical Background exam score is tomorrow. Yikes. I'm almost afraid to look. I think I did about the same as last time. I hope. I really can't afford to drop this grade a whole lot more. Ok, now I'm done talking about grades.

My psych prof handed this sheet out awhile back, and I really liked it. I am typing it out the way she did; I'm not sure of the "correct" way that it's supposed to be. But I thought the effectiveness was quite good. Unusual breaks in lines. A man named Robert Smithdas wrote this. He became deaf and blind at some point in his life. It adds so much more meaning to this piece.

I praise my God, for he has
guided me through the
darkness too intense
to find the day.
***
I praise my God, for he
provided me with music
when all sound
had died away.
***
Into the songless darkness
of my days, the light of hope
and song of love have crept,
until my spirit sings
this hymn of praise
***
to Him who woke me
when my whole life slept.
***
Such incredible love, devotion, and faith. Would I love God that much if I went blind and deaf? Do I love Him that much now, when my life is going just dandily? (Knock on wood.) I find it fascinating to see such faith. A good model for me to strive for.

I found a church I really like. It's called Neighborhood Church, and it is much like the EVFree I went to when I was home. It's right off Daschutes Rd, for all of you who know where that is. Makes me feel like I'm going to camp. Makes me think of all of you!! *hugs all around* Anyway, Neighborhood actually teaches from the Bible. I have found that churches will teach on a subject and throw in a few verses for good measure. Often what they have to say is good, but it lacks the direct teaching from the Word and simply being in it. So I really enjoy it. I'm excited! =)

This Saturday is the Winter Formal. My group of friends and I are not going. We do not have dates (which is totally fine with me), cannot dance, and really don't care to go. So we're going to dinner and a movie instead. It'll be lots of fun! We might even dress up, just for the heck of it!! I think we're planning on going to Red Robin (YUM!!) and watching The Incredibles. I heard it was a really good movie. So many movies are coming out that I want to see! That Peter Pan/Neverland one with Johnny Depp, and Ocean's Twelve. Sadly, it costs so much to watch a movie! And I am a poor college student, unable to waste my money (regularly) on such frivolous things. But I will on Saturday!!

Dacheutes!!! Cool!
And I want to see Oceans Twelve too! And I can't wait until Thanksgiving!
I can't help it, I have to correct a few things...ahem..."You're so vain. I bet you think this movie is about you." And there's no "Well" in "Whatta ya know". I babysit too. =)
And, the proper spelling is DEschutes. Sorry, I still love you. I don't have dates either. Don't feel too bad.

Actually if you're talking about the song sung by Carly Simon which peaked at #1 on the billboard charts in 1972 and was later redone by a pop group in the late 90's, Stephanie has the lyrics correct.
