Sadly, there have been two deaths in the family. Blue, Janelle's hydrangea, gave up the ghost, and The Pine Tree Outside My Window blew over. Pine Tree was righted, but soon fell over again. The grounds workers lashed it to a big pole this afternoon. So hopefully it will be successfully resurrected. But poor Blue... gone forever.

Tonight is Nite Life. It's basically a Lassen talent show, only better because people have had more than half a week to practice it. I'm excited about it. I went in March during the pre-view weekend, and it was pretty funny! It's going to be better this time because I'll actually know these people (or at least recognize them). Too bad 10:00 is so far away. I'm bored right now.

As of September 1, my college changed to a university. Not only are they changing that, but they're also changing our mascot. They came up with 4 really lame options: Steelheads, Pumas, Rapids, and Red Hawks. Which would you choose?? I know, I had a hard time deciding too. We were/are the Vanguards, which I think is as good as anything. We were talking before class today, and some of us decided that we should be the blowfish. That would be hysterical. But anyways, that will never happen, so we shall go back to ranting about the names. First of all, who wants a FISH as their mascot?? How conquering-like. Can you see it on our sport jerseys- SU Fish. Of course, it would say Steelheads, but still. A fish??!?!? Pumas, apparently, are a mountain lion sort of creature. That would be ok. Though people would think of the shoes. Rapids. That would be hard to design stuff, I would think. But it kinda lacks pizzaz (sp??). And it just doesn't flow very well. (Haha!! Get it?? Flow! Water flows! Rapids!!) *ahem* ANYway, Red Hawks sounded like the best option, so I voted for that one, with Pumas as my second vote. We'll see what wins tonight. Just please please please don't let it be the steelheads!!

How you know when you're a poor college student: When you start paper-clipping and rubber-banding your clothes together. Or maybe I just love my overalls too much. Or maybe I just need another pair. But I think my mom can fix them. They will have to live with being paper-clipped and rubber-banded until Thanksgiving. Or until someone wants to send me money for a new pair. Either one works for me.

And TAB and MistaBlades, did you really think I would leave you "hanging" like that about the bike?? It was a Kawasaki (sp?)... uh oh... what model (or whatever)? Shoot. How's this: Two letters, two numbers, and another letter. ZZ Something Something Something I think. Maybe I shouldn't have written about this at all. But the point is, I did put forth effort to see what kind it was. Maybe it was... oh who knows. Never mind.

Yeah I'd hope for the hawks. But don't get me started on mascot names. Be glad the worst you can get is a fish name. It's been over a year and I still want to rip someone's head off for changing our mascot from the Crusaders to the Sea Lions. No, not an actual sea lion.
